Researching Pixar

For the first Learning Objective for the Animation Studies unit you must know ONE animation studio inside out in terms of the following criteria.

History, Ownership and Structure

Types of product made

Technologies and techniques used

The company we have selected for you to research is Pixar. If you would like to research any other studio then that is possible but only if your selection is discussed with Dave or Nick.
This research is important so if it is too brief or simply cut and pasted you will be asked to do again. Be thorough, list the places you got the information and illustrate your work with videos and images as much as possible.

To help you include the most pertinent and relevant information there are some guideline questions. These are there to guide you, these are not questions to offer up one word answers to and then move on. WRITE FULL SENTENCES.

History, Ownership and Structure of Pixar
You answer must make reference to the following: Steve Jobs, Luxo Jr, Disney, Lucas Film, Tin Toy, John Lasseter.
What is unique about the working culture and environment of Pixar that has enabled them to be so successful?

Types of product made
What types of animated media do Pixar make? Mention genre.
What were the most important and significant ones made? Why were they significant (mention awards, box office, critical success, your own personal recollection)?

IT MUST BE AT THE MINIMUM 1000 WORDS LONG.

The way to research

2) Start reading relevant articles and watching relevant videos.
3) Write down notes on what you find important and interesting.
